August 22, 2010 10:43 PM - Well, Victoria 2 happened and let's just say I got a bit distracted! I won't be abandoning my HoI3 tools but progress is being significantly hampered. In the meantime if you play Victoria 2 please check out my more active Victoria 2 Savegame Analyzer tool in this thread

July 26, 2010 10:00 PM - New release focuses on expeditinary forces management

July 23, 2010 9:16 AM - Currently in development/testing are features for managing expeditionary forces - to be able to send units to your faction allies, assign leaders to expeditionary units, etc... and will be ready soon. In the meantime I have released a concept application called Universal Paradox File Editor - which is supposed to load any paradox game file that has the curly braces format and displays it as a tree. Check out the thread here or just download it here and let me know what you think

July 16, 2010 2:43 PM - Fixed crash bug reported on using the new Common Weapons of WWII DLC

July 10, 2010 8:32 AM - I have finally had some free time and motivation to release a new version of this app. I was aiming for show-stopper type bugs that caused the program to crash for some users, particularly those using ICE mod. If you continue to have problems with the latest build, please use the Report a Bug page to contact me and I will look into it.

Information

This is a tool designed to help ease the burden of organizaing one's military in Hearts of Iron III. It allows you to modify the command heirarchy, change leaders, and rename commands.

Known Issues

• Attention Steam users: If you downloaded your game from Steam then you should be sure to patch your game with the fan-made patch here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=443295. Basically the Steam version of the game comes with corrupted data files which do not match the retail version, and some of these have egregious errors like the French leaders file (\history\leaders\FRA.txt) is missing a while chunk of data from the top and starts off incorrect. When trying to load a savegame with these corrupted files using this tool you are guaranteed to get a crash.

I realize the link above is now dead, but the fan-made patch is still quite relevant from what I understand. If you have any information on where HoI3 players can download that fan-made patch please notify me by the Comments page so that I may provide the new link - thanks!

Please don't expect flawless operation from BETA labelled builds - functionality may break and it may generate corrupt savegames (which is why it always backs up any savegame you edit with a ".bck" extension - appending a number for each new backup made which means the original is always .bck).
